Salary: $68,640 a yearPARCA is seeking a dedicated House Manager to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of an all-women’s residential setting for individuals with developmental disabilities. This position requires a compassionate, organized, and proactive individual who can ensure a safe and supportive living environment while also serving as an Independent Living Skills (ILS) Counselor. Essential Functions of This Role:
Household Management:
Oversee the daily upkeep and maintenance of the residential property to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment.
Manage household supplies, groceries, and inventory, ensuring adequate stock of essentials.
Coordinate maintenance and repairs, working with vendors and staff to address any facility issues.
Plan and supervise household chores, including cleaning schedules and organization.
Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans, including fire drills and evacuation procedures.
Resident Support and ILS Counseling:
Serve as an Independent Living Skills (ILS) Counselor for residents, guiding them in developing life skills and achieving personal goals.
Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration.
Implement individualized plans that align with each resident's needs and goals, fostering independence and self-advocacy.
Conduct group and one-on-one sessions to teach skills such as budgeting, personal care, meal planning, and community navigation.
Provide transportation services as needed, supporting community integration and participation in social and recreational activities.
Documentation and Compliance:
Maintain accurate records of residents’ daily activities, progress notes, and incident reports.
Ensure compliance with Title 17 regulations and internal policies, including documentation of care and resident progress.
Manage household budgets, including expense tracking and financial documentation.
Family and Community Engagement:
Maintain open communication with residents’ families and support networks.
Facilitate community inclusion by arranging and supporting social and recreational activities.
Collaborate with the program director on how to address issues with regional centers, healthcare providers, and community organizations to coordinate services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Five or more years of experience in residential care or supportive housing management.
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or similar populations.
Valid California state driver’s license, reliable transportation, and clean driving record.
CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days).
Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Position: Independent Living Counselor (ILS)

Location: Opportunities spanning from South San Francisco to San Jose.
PARCA is seeking Independent Living Counselors to provide services to adults with developmental disabilities who live in their own homes, our shared living facilities and out in the communities. We are looking for people who enjoy working with people with developmental disabilities who may have complex service needs. This may include working with clients who have low verbal abilities, poor comprehension, and some behavioral challenges. We are also looking for people who are interested in teaching and role-modeling a positive lifestyle.

Essential Functions of this role:
Implements independent living skill curriculum in the areas of healthy and balanced meals, hygiene, sports, effective communication, community or neighborhood outings, shopping, money management, household maintenance chores, optimal health, social/leisure activities, self-advocacy, mobility training, etc.
Provides close supervision and training to participants.
Provide direct care services, e.g. personal care aides, home health aides, etc. to clients as needed.
Provide transportation services to clients as needed. (You will receive mileage reimbursement)
Engaging and motivating participants in learning, practicing, and progressing.
Maintain a safe and clean-living environment for participants. Minimizes health, safety, and any other risks to the well-being of participants.
Maintains a supportive and professional relationship with participants and their families.
Documents participants’ activities, medication intake, and progress daily.
Administrative support, good verbal and written communication skills, great interpersonal skills, filing, enter and maintain client & prospect data in automated system.
Be compliant with HIPPA regulations.
Prepares special incident and adult dependent abuse reports as necessary.
Support clients in a person-centered manner.
Attend required training and staff meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
In-Home Support Services (IHSS) providers are encouraged to apply.
Possess a valid California state driver’s license, current registration, and valid vehicle insurance.
Must be 18 years of age.
Has a high school diploma or GED.
Fluent in oral and written English
One year or more experience working with the developmentally disabled is preferred.
Must pass a fingerprint background check.
Recent clean TB test and health screening (within one year)
Obtain valid CPR and First Aid Certificate
Ability to work independently and display good independent judgment.
Strong time management skills, patient, and detailed oriented
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with clients, parents, social workers, fellow workers, and others positively and constructively.
Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends to meet client needs.
Can lift weight up to 25lbs.
