Family Support Services
Family Support Services offers a broad spectrum of options for parents, caregivers and siblings of people with developmental disabilities. It is a lifeline for San Mateo County families struggling with the challenges of raising a child or assisting an adult family member who has one or more developmental disabilities.
Professional assistance in areas such as education, housing, legal rights, health, respite and inclusion is offered through:
- Support groups for parents & siblings
- Information & referral
- Community outreach
- Resources
- Advocacy
- PARCA speaker series
- Recreational activities
The Family Support Services program director plans and implements each service, and responds to family requests and needs on an ongoing, interpersonal basis. Services are provided free of charge.
